About Malini (she/her)

Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m a storyteller, strategist, intuitive guide, and fellow traveller who relishes supporting heart-centered changemakers of all shapes and sizes identify and unleash their superpowers in the world. My journey has been wide - including a variety of sectors and roles depending on the project. The range thus far has included work in civic technology (civic tech) to social entrepreneurship to bringing innovation to federal government to better serve the public, and serving as a guide in meditation.

I integrate an understanding of mindfulness into my work which includes training in Reiki, Qi Gong, different breath work, mantra and meditation techniques. And most importantly, over a decade of journeying to live in greater awareness by embracing and practicing these ancient wisdom practices in my own life.

By way of education and training, I hold a B.A. in Political Science from Wellesley College and an M.A. in Sustainable International Development from the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University. I am a student and practitioner of design thinking and other helpful methods that empower creative thinking, deepen understanding and solve problems. In terms of training in ancient wisdom and healing techniques, I’ve had the great privilege of being initiated as a Reiki Master by Reya Mellicker in the Usui Shiki Ryoho system of natural healing. I have also had the honor of studying Qi Gong under Master Robert Peng and receiving spiritual guidance and teachings from Panache Desai and many other beautiful teachers along the way.

Finally and perhaps more importantly as a human you might want to work with - I’m an endlessly curious, creative, silly seeker on this wild, beautiful adventure. Currently, I’m really into: playing tennis regularly, being a more self-aware human, writing, being in nature, and learning and laughing with my son and anyone else who wants to laugh with us. I’m also told that I have a strong GIF and emoji game.

i also express my immense respect and gratitude for the traditional lands I live and work on of the piscataway and manahoac tribal nations, as well as my ancestors from across the ocean in south india who still guide me.

“…[A portfoloist] does the hard work of figuring out what the world truly needs, maps that to a range of skills she possesses (and enjoys), and folds that into a business model. This ‘portfolio’ of skills, experience, roles or responsibilities might be wildly diverse, which both distributes risk and allows for experimentation. Unrelated experiences may combine to create very specific and valuable expertise.”

- April Rinne from The career of the future looks more like a portfolio than a path.
